COVID‐19 and 2019 Tax Filing Deadline Extension Announcement

On Friday, March 20, 2020, the US Treasury announced that the April 15 deadline for filing tax returns and paying income tax liabilities has been extended to July 15, 2020. Although not yet official, we expect all states to soon follow suit with state tax filing deadlines as well.

Like you, we are taking the necessary precautions as recommended by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, and the Minnesota Department of Health to address the risks presented by the COVID‐19 outbreak. Ensuring the health and safety of our employees and clients is our #1 priority. While the extension to prepare and file returns is absolutely necessary as our country deals with the COVID‐19 outbreak, we still recommend that you get us your 2019 tax information as soon as you can, especially if you are expecting refunds. At this time, we do not anticipate a significant work disruption and will continue to provide timely, quality tax and accounting service to our clients. However, we have implemented certain measures for the coming weeks:

We will not be holding in‐person meetings until further notice

  • If absolutely necessary, you may drop‐off information at our office – but please put in a sealed envelope with your name on it and leave on our front desk. Our office is currently open during normal business hours Monday through Friday, but we encourage you to call ahead to be sure.

Our employees will be working remotely as necessary but will have the ability to communicate with clients as usual via phone and email.

We will continue to provide updates as needed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our professionals if you have any questions or concerns.
